After using Hybrid Cream Clay
After using Hybrid Cream Clay
After using Hybrid Cream Clay

The main thing that piqued my interest about this product was the delayed hold activation feature (I’ll talk about this later) and I legit just needed to try it out. SO, I emailed the BluMaan team, asked for some samples which they were kind enough to give me and kaboom I was off.

You also may have noticed at the very top of this page, it says this product is best for fine hair… And clearly by looking at the pictures above it’s pretty obvious I don’t have the finest of hair lol. But I’m kind of a rule breaker and wanted to give it a go because it’s also recommended for creating messy hairstyles which I’m all about anyway and thought F#ck it let’s go. If you are like me and have real big coarse hair, don’t Hybrid Cream Clay out just yet because it could in fact end up being on of your favs.

Main Features and Benefits of BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay

  1. Delayed Hold Activation - OMG, this is a pretty fancy feature if you don’t mind me saying. The delayed hold activation feature makes the product set 10 - 15 minutes after applying. I found this really cool because it allowed me to play around with my hair’s position before the hold of the product took effect.

  2. Super Easy To Apply - This product is literally a mixture of a hair clay and a cream. Brings the hold of a clay and the easy application of a cream into one. I don’t know If you’ve noticed but hair clays can sometimes be a real bitch to get into your hair. I think it’s really nice that hybrid cream clay can offer both features to the user.

  3. Hand Crafted - Another nifty thing about BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay is it’s hand made. I thought it was quite odd to begin with but looking at it again I think this makes it quite unique hair product to be honest.

  4. Good For Your Hair - BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay contains several ingredients that promote healthy hair and growth. They are:
    - Shea Butter - Provides a creamy texture and nourishes hair with antioxidants.
    - Apricot Kernel Oil - Enriches hair with several fatty acids.
    - Sea Clay - Lightly cleanses and enhances hair with minerals.

As you can probs already tell, the above features really make this product different. They were enough to convince me that Hybrid Cream Clay is a product I needed to test out.

Hybrid Cream Clay Packaging Notes

Seriously, whoever creates the designs for BluMaan’s packaging is a freaking boss. I go cray cray for quirky art already and the packaging of BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay certainly rubs me the right way.

a) I think the use of pinky red is already 1 massive step outside the box. It’s about time the constraints of pink being a girls colour were broken down. Not only that it’s vibrant and eye catching.

b) The illustration of the bear on the hybrid cream clay packaging is just killer. He’s rocking a pink pompadour and it matches well against the other 2 Blumaan products I’ve used, Cavalier Clay by BluMaan and Original by BluMaan.

I’ve seen in some other online reviews that people aren’t crazy about the packaging but I guess it comes down to personal preference and I love it!

Hybrid Cream Clay Packaging Notes

The smell of Hybrid Cream Clay is quite pleasant in my. It’s very different to the smell of Cavalier Clay. To me, it definitely had a clay smell but was mixed with a really fresh masculine scent.

I always prefer scented products rather not. I’ve used other hair clays with no scent and the way I’d describe it would be “It’s not as fun”.

How Hybrid Cream Clay Worked with My Coarse/Curly/Wavy Hair Type

Going into this process I already knew that BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay wasn’t designed for my hair type however, I feel like it worked pretty well.

In the video I featured above, I use BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay to create a Sweep Back in My hair. I had heard in a few other reviews that the hold was certainly not great even for fine hair so i was very curious to see how it would work for my hair. The hold for me was actually not bad at all.

In my sweep back tutorial I used bobby pins to secure my most unruly side pieces of hair (the twins) along with Hybrid Cream Clay. After that I just used the product on its own on the hair on top. Once the delayed hold activation to effect I was quite happy with the end result and found the hold was good.

I’ve also used this product in other instance where my hair has been a bit frizzy and it helps calm it down a bit and give me a little more control, which in the frizzy world is a very good thing haha.

The Pricing BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay?

100% affordable. BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay will cost you $19.50 USD which I think is extremely reasonable considering the effort and work that has clearly gone into this product.

$19.50 is more than what you’d pay for some random machine made generic hair clay in a supermarket and it certainly wouldn’t be as unique. I say this all the time, you get what you pay for. If you pay cheap you get cheap. The leave in conditioner I use is 40 freaking dollars and because I know it works for me, I’m never hesitant to pay. Good hair comes with a price tag.

Final Rating

If I were to rate BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay out of 10 I would give it an 8. I found it really pleasant to use and thought the features were very unique and interesting.

I would love to see a product like this but with a heavy hold instead of low – medium. I’m a fan of the Cavalier Clay and how the hold works in my hair so it would be cool if they could incorporate that feature into a product like this.

I also don’t think I’ve come across a 10 out of 10 product before. I think there’s a way everything can be improved but overall I’m a fan of this BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay.

Thanks again for taking the time to read this review and I hope I’ve helped you make your decision on whether or not you want to try BluMaan Hybrid Cream Clay.
