Who Should Use the iRestore Laser Hair Growth System?
Simply put, I believe our hair is like an extension of your personality and it’s the one thing other than makeup and clothes that can allow us to say exactly who we are without needing to say a word and the thought of losing it can be terrifying.
On top of that, because of the negative impact hair loss can have on our self-esteem and confidence, it’s often something that people choose to ignore until their hair loss gets so significant that they feel they need to do something about it.
Unfortunately in a lot of cases, by the time people get around to trying to fix the issue, it’s already too late… It doesn’t have to be though. If you take action early enough you can actually reverse hair loss all together.
So who is the perfect candidate for the iRestore Laser Hair Growth System?
In short, the iRestore Laser Hair Growth System is ideal for people with minimal to moderate hair loss (refer to chart below).
If you are completely bald in certain areas of your scalp, unfortunately this system may not work for you as the hair follicles must still be alive, otherwise laser therapy may not be effective.
Low-level laser therapy uses light energy to stimulate the growth cycle of existing hair follicles. Complete baldness is an indication that the follicles have completely died off and will require a different course of action.
However, if you’re in the early stages of hair loss and you’re ready to take action now, the iRestore Laser Hair Growth System could indeed be the solution you’ve been looking for.
This system can also be useful for anyone experience temporary hair loss from other causes such as:
- Traction Alopecia (this is me)
- Stress (also me sometimes)
- Vitamin deficiencies
My main reason for using this system was to try and help treat traction alopecia, I’ve been getting a little self conscious about my hairline both on top and the sides is starting to look a little thinner and I’m hoping that I can use this hair growth system to thicken it back-up and restore the hair that has been falling out prematurely.
See below an image of what my hairline is currently looking like at the time of writing this post.
How Does The iRestore Laser Hair Growth Systems Actually Work?
As mentioned before, iRestore’s laser technology is clinically proven to regrow hair by using light energy to promote hair growth in existing hair follicles. The light energy supplied from the lasers and LED’s used in this hair growth system are absorbed by the cells of the hair follicles which increases the cell metabolism rate and ATP production. This method also helps reactivate hair follicles that have gone dormant due to pattern baldness and helps them to start growing normally again.
One thing I found really unique with the iRestore Laser Hair Growth Systems compared to others on the market was they use a mixture of lasers and LED’s to supply the light energy as opposed to just using LED’s.
The video below helps explain Low Level Laser Therapy in better details haha.
Essentially, the lasers in the helmet work to penetrate deeply into the scalp while the LED’s work on the surface level of the scalp making treatment far more thorough and consistent. iRestore really seems to go above and beyond when creating their products and it’s clear they’ve thought outside the box with this one.
iRestore has 2 Laser Hair Growth Systems on the market, their first one was the iRestore Essential and they also have the iRestore Pro. The main difference between the 2 is the Pro provides 282 medical grade lasers and LED diodes with full scalp coverage extending from the back and sides, while the Essential has 51 lasers and LEDs and provides top coverage, which covers the main problem areas with pattern baldness.
The other thing I found really appealing about iRestore was both of their laser hair growth systems are FDA-cleared, making them a safe and drug-free way to promote hair growth.
I’ve listed the key differences and product specs of both systems below for you.
Going back to what I said earlier, people in the early stages of hair loss can find this extremely beneficial because they may be seeing loss of hair externally, but it doesn’t mean that the follicles are completely dead yet.
Pattern baldness begins by slowly suffocating the hair follicle into dormancy before completely killing them off which is why it’s so crucial to look for a hair loss solution the minute you notice your hair starting to thin out.
Unboxing The iRestore Professional Laser Hair Growth System
Now for the fun part! Actually unboxing my iRestore Pro Laser Hair Growth System. I was pretty much jumping out of my skin with excitement when the hair growth system arrived at my PO box.
Now, because the sides and top of my hairline are looking a bit thinner, I opted to go for the iRestore pro to get maximum coverage on my scalp and when I opened it this is what I got:
The Helmet and Remote
The hair growth helmet looks so cool and futuristic, I kinda felt like cyber galactic warrior the first time I put it on lol. The helmet is connected to the remote used to power the device with an on/off switch and pause button in case you need to pause your session for whatever reason.
The helmet has also been designed for comfort. On the inside of the helmet there are 3 medical grade soft foam cushions that help distribute the weight evenly on your head while still feeling comfortable. It’s also been designed to allow air flow into the helmet so it doesn’t feel hot on your head.
Wall Charger & Portable Battery Pack
The charger that comes with the device plugs straight into the remote to charge the recharge the system and I also got the portable battery pack which is handy if I ever want to use the hair growth system on the go. The battery pack is a separate item with this system and can be purchased on the iRestore website.
User Manual and Quick Start Guide to Using the Device
Whenever I receive a new product, I love it when things are already outlined for me step by step as opposed to flipping through a big long manual that gives me a headache. So I’m glad they gave me both and using the product was really straight forward.
My Thoughts and First Impressions
The first time using the iRestore Pro Laser Hair Growth System was really fun. You can watch the video above to get a better visual of my experience.
Essentially my main takeaways were:
Very Easy to Use - The Quick Start Guide Came in handy for my first session. I just popped the device on my head and click the on button and then started the session by using the start/pause button.
I also like that it has the timer on the remote display so you know how long you’ve got to go until your session is finished plus, the device automatically switches off once your session is done so you don’t have to worry about overstimulating your follicles. Overstimulating your hair follicles can actually cause more hair to fall out, so this device is super safe.
Super Convenient - I work from home so for me personally I was able to use this device while I was working. You know, just killing two bird with one stone like a boss haha.
Even if you don’t work from home though, you can use it in your own time and in privacy. You don’t need to go into a hair loss centre to have this kind of treatment anymore, which is amazing.
It’s also completely wireless with the rechargeable battery pack so you can walk around and do normal things for the time you are wearing it.
Painless - To be honest, I didn’t even feel a thing. I wore the device for 25 minutes, it didn’t get hot and I didn't feel anything either. I pretty much just got to be a pretend space warrior for 25 minutes.
Overall, I don’t really have anything negative to say about the experience with this hair growth system. I’m really excited to see my results though.
iRestore recommend that users should see results between 3 to 6 months but they also mentioned that individual results can vary. And that’s understandable because everyone experiencing hair loss has different genetics and is also at a different stage. SO it’s practically impossible to give an exact time frame.
However, seeing my particular situation isn’t particularly related to pattern baldness, I’m confident that my follicles will take to this product nicely and I have a hunch I’ll be seeing results sooner that I think.

Conclusion
So if you’ve read this far in the post, you’re obviously in a proactive mindset to take action on your hair growth issue, which I commend you for.
A lot of people can’t get past the fact that it might be happening to them and are quick to shut down the possibility of trying to fix the problem until it’s too late. Don’t let that be you.
